Yes it will. I use an Android App named WiFi Analyzer to identify hot spots and weak spots in the house. It is available free of charge in the Play Store. Place the Extender in the hot spot nearest the problem area.

Please note that extended coverage results will vary depending on where the range extender is physically installed. Ideally, it should be in a location where it receives a stable signal from your router, but is simultaneously placed as close to the "dead zone" as possible while retaining that good signal from the main router. Environmental factors (e.g., walls, obstructions, interference) will also play a role in extended range.
