Hi! Wi-Fi extenders are primarily designed to extend the range/reach of your existing network's Wi-Fi signal. They are not designed specifically to increase Wi-Fi speed, since they repeat the quality of signal they receive from your existing Wi-Fi network, which can vary depending on where your router and the extender are placed within your home. Theoretically, there is a possible scenario in which a Wi-Fi extender can help improve speeds. For example, if your router's Wi-Fi signal is very, very weak in a particular location, resulting in abysmal speeds. Then, if you are able to secure a location for the extender that can carry a more stable/reliable signal from the router to the dead zone, the resulting, extended signal can potentially yield better throughput than the base, weak signal from the router. This is all dependent upon your network schema and the layout of your home.
