Yes, it comes with an AC adapter. I believe the specs say a single unit covers 1500 sq. feet (I have three units). A single unit would be the hub.

Nevertheless, where I live there are lots of changes in the voltage load, therefore I have added a voltage regulator to each AC adapter. I have a three stories house and use one device per floor. I put them close to the stairs, trying to reduce the communication obstacles between them. Works really good. One thing to have in mind is that each device only has two ethernet ports.
