Fast and easy to set up.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome router overall and way better mesh Wi-Fi system to cover more areas in your home. The setup is simple with the TP link deco app on the Wi-Fi speeds you get are great. I pay for 1 gig up / 1 gig down and this router(s) lets me use them better than most.

Nice upgrade to my WiFi
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great routers. I have a set of three of these now to cover a house with thick plaster walls and a detached out building 25 feet from the main house. No more dead spots and I can freely move around without interruption or lag to my connection. Mesh technology is the way to go. They not only sped up my download speeds, but have been super reliable and stable. I’ve had them over a year and have reset them 2-3 times total (all 3 units) since installation. The app is great for making changes or checking status. A bit spends, but worth it to me. Great product.

Worth every penny
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love these. We have excellent coverage throughout our house. I like that I don't have to choose between 2.4 and 5 ghz bands. The application for controlling access provides plenty of functionality. Adding additional units is quick and easy.

Does the job
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was pretty easy, but connecting other devices can be hit or miss sometimes. Of you get drops sometimes. I think location means more with this system than some others as far as things blocking it and such. Does a good job for the most part for me.

A great router system.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system has worked faultlessly in my house, where I had had issues with routers previously. This single “puck” is the only place I’ve been able to find that sells individual routers, perfect for building out your mesh network further. Nice job stocking this Best Buy!

Q: QuestionIs the tri-band in reference to it being 3 mesh pods for that price or does that mean something else?
Asked by Reggie.
- A:Answer The Deco M9 Mesh system is considered Tri-Band because it utilizes two primary bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz) for device connectivity, but also uses a third, separate band (2nd 5GHz) exclusively as part of the system's Dynamic Backhaul. This provides means of efficient communication between Deco units, to provide optimal network bandwidth. NOTE: This third band is not for device (phone, laptop, etc.) connectivity; it is solely a dedicated path of communication between the Deco units. Regards, TP-Link Support

Q: QuestionI currently have 3 M5's in place and would like to purchase an M9 to add more coverage. Should I add the M9 as the MAIN unit and make the 3 M5's the slaves?
Asked by LynnS.
- A:Answer Yes, the M9 should be the main unit. I think the app will also instruct you to make the M9 the main unit when you add it.

Q: QuestionDoes the device's antenna geometry favor it being mounted on a ceiling, or on a wall? Or does it not make much difference?
Asked by WiFiGi.
- A:Answer The orientation of the antennas in the Deco M9 would benefit more from being installed in a horizontal plane, as the units are designed for installation on a flat surface, such as a table, bookshelf, or desk. Regards, TP-Link Support

Q: QuestionWe have all sorts of issues staying connected to the internet (we have a portable hotspot from a cellphone company) so someone suggested getting the mesh system to boost the connection. Will the mesh system work with the hotspot?
Asked by Marty.
- A:Answer The Deco Mesh WiFi system must be hardwired (via Ethernet cable) to an existing Internet source. If your hotspot does not provide Ethernet connectivity, it cannot serve as an Internet source for the Deco.

Q: QuestionI currently have an ASUS wifi router--can the TP Linkunit be connected via Cat 5 directly to one of the Asus' LAN output ports to create a separate WIFI network? (I need the ASUS for another private networking situation).
Asked by Rick188.
- A:Answer Yes. My TP-Link is connected to my Att router via Cat 5. This gives me a separate access point with gigabit speed.

Q: QuestionCan a single m9 be added to work with 2 x20 units
Asked by J2000.
- A:Answer Yes - all of our Deco models are compatible with each other - up to a total of 10 Deco units per Deco network.
Answered by TPLinkSupport
Q: QuestionCan I connect just one to a switch to extend my wireless network? extender just keep losing connections.
Asked by gman.
- A:Answer Absolutely, you can set up one, or both of the Deco M9 units in Access Point Mode to your existing routed network, as shown in our FAQ here: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1842/ Regards, TP-Link Support

Q: QuestionCan this single unit be added as a node to an existing M9 mesh setup?
Asked by StreamingGuy.
- A:Answer Yep. That’s what I did. I wish I had originally purchased the 3-pack because it would have saved me some money. For my home, I found the square footage of coverage to be a bit overestimated by the manufacturer. But I have an older home with plaster walls. I bought the single unit to reach a detached garage building. It was very easy to add it to the existing network using the app. No more dead spots and great coverage through the garage and outbuilding.
