Hi! Yes, only the main Deco node needs to be wired via Ethernet to your existing Internet source. The remaining nodes connect via Mesh Wi-Fi.

Yes, you only need to connect one device to the internet modem. The other devices will connect from feeding off the next closest device. I have my one device connected to the modem on the first floor and one device in the basement and the other on the second floor. The connection is great, speed is fantastic.

Only 1 unit requires a patch cord, the other two operator over the WiFi then act as a WiFi repeater
