“Will this work If its plugged into one of the sockets on power strip. For example: I have power strip and i only want to control the one device, if I plug the Kasa smart plug mini into only one of the outlets on power strip, will this work?”

Yes, this would work in this configuration. As long as the power strip has power the smart plug can control one device that is plugged into it. You could also plug the power strip directly into the smart plug and then all items on the power strip would be controlled by the plug itself. In that case, when the smart plug is on - all devices plugged into the power strip would be on as well.
