The frequency for the WiFi in this device is running on 2.4 GHz. If your wireless router will allow 2.4 GHz for a dual frequency then the 2.4 GHz will be sufficient for these plugs. The main reason to use 5 GHz is for speed and less congestion with other devices in the lower frequency channel spectrums. Normally, 2.4 GHz allows for a longer distance for connectivity. This the the URL to the main page for the vendor in regards to this plug. https://www.kasasmart.com/us/products/smart-plugs/kasa-smart-plug-slim-energy-monitoring-kp125
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a WiFi connected device. Wireless - IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11n are supported. Being that the 802.11n standard includes the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies and no other, I would say that this device does not support the 5MHz you are asking about (Fun fact: 5MHz or 60 meter is a popular ham radio frequency). That being said if you are trying to connect this to a standard WiFi access point or router made in the last 5-6 years it will connect; as those are 5GHz and indeed supported by this device.
