• It uses 2.4Ghz WIFI, not 5Ghz. You may want to temporarily disable your 5Ghz WIFI while doing configurations but I didn't need to do that for mine.

• If by 5G you mean 5GHz WiFi, then no. The Kasa Spot Indoor supports 2.4GHz WiFi only.
