No, the camera itself does not connect to a cellular phone service. It does connect to a WiFi network (of course with the correct password). As long as the WiFi router is connected to the internet, you can access your camera using the Kasa app on an internet connected computer, phone, tablet, etc, including a phone that is connected to a 5G (or other) signal.
