Depends on the type of minutes plan you buy. They offer plans like 30 minutes for 90 days or 200 minutes for 90 days. The phone will be active based on that. So if you have 200 minutes for 90 days and only used 25 minutes in 90 days then your plan expires and the phone is not active. If you use the whole 200 minutes in 30 days then you completed the plan and your phone is no longer active...it's a whichever comes first plan. You then buy a new plan & reactivate the phone again. I bought this phone for my mom and bought the 1 year unlimited minutes plan so we don't have to think about it for a year!
