How's the sound detection of enemies? For example,
Footsteps in the distance , how well can you hear them, can you tell how much distance their is between you and opponents ?

Gunfire , can you differentiate between where your being fired on from ? As well as even distant gunfire/ explosions ?

Yes you can on both, i play cod: black ops 3 right now. I do not really use the perk to amplify enemy sound and i can hear them pretty good. 
The gun fire and jet pack thrusters, you can hear and tell what direction they are coming from

This headset is only stereo sound. If you're looking for something deeper you might want to look into something with a amp for simulated surround sound.

I had these headphones at first... They sound decent. The best advice I can give you would be to upgrade to the 500 model Turtle Beach. The 7.1 surround sound quality is amazing. I play Rainbow Six Siege right now, I can hear where everyone is at. The positional audio in the 500 is great, especially for the price.

I would have to say that you can hear the footsteps clearly from afar. If I were to measure I would say you can hear them from 15 to 20 ft from your location.

Son says it's unbelievable especially when enemy is in the water/rain puddle you can turn around so fast to defend yourself.

The louder or fainter the sounds will give you an indication of how close or distant the source is and left or right ear will give an indication of the direction the source is coming from.

You can hear footsteps clear as long as the opponent is not equipped with silence perk.

You most definitely can tell where gunshots are coming from.

You can hear it very well. I play destiny and often play pvp. This headset doesn't even need to be at max, and I am able to know where it comes from, how close, etc.
