I have both options set up. So, if you turn down the volume of the TV, you can still hear the game playing through the headset and vice versa. Plus, you can hook it up to you phone through Bluetooth and have music playing in the background with the game sound as well.

If you followed the on screen instructions on install, your speakers should be off when using the PS4. You can check your sound settings and make sure you have it set to come through the headphones.

These guys dont know wut thier talking about but when im using them absolutely no sound comes from my tv as soon as i turn the headset on. There is a setting that makes only the chat go through the headset and have game noise coming from tv/stereo. The guy is right about having it hooked up to your phone via Bluetooth allows you to answer calls with push of a button and you can also have your music playing from your phone while the game sound is coming through as well

Yeah the sound comes from both I just mute the tv

It should come out for both the headset and TV speakers. If you don't want sound coming out of the TV, simply mute the TV itself.
