    Pretty Good

From all the horror stories on the XBOX version of this product, I was skeptical, but these seem alright. As far as sound, these are right on par with the Stealth 520's, which sound amazing. They have great highs, lows, and mid range. I have used the Playstation Golds for years and I always liked them, however I believe these sound better. I also had the Playstation Platinums, which were returned promptly because personally I thought the Golds sounded better. I got the Stealth 700's hours after their release and they sounded great, however there was a loose piece of plastic in the right ear cup internally so it rattled every time you moved your head. Returned them and got a second set, updated the firmware and went off to the races. The fact that you can pair your phone via Bluetooth and have it linked to the PS4 simultaneously was what I was interested in, and it works great. I stream Pandora music through my phone and mute game music and it sounds perfect. You can control all of the headsets features through the app, such as noise cancelling, superhuman hearing, mic feedback, chat prioritize, and sound category. The changes selected in the app give a brief tone in the ear cup and are instant. The buttons on the side (superhuman hearing, Bluetooth, and power) have no distinct different feeling, so its difficult to change anything by feel with the headset on, but the app makes it quick and effortless. For comfort level, they are pretty good as well. They are a little heavier than the Stealth 520's, but they are actually quite comfy. I don't find myself needing to readjust too often, and in comparison to the Platinums and Golds, they are great. There are a couple reasons why these are not a 5 star. First, if the headset dies, you can't plug it in and keep using it, this is not a pass through headset, the instant something is plugged in to charge, it shuts off. Second, the connection is a bit choppy at times. It usually doesn't have too much issue, but it may lose signal for a few tenths of seconds that may drive some people nuts. It seems when there is a lot going on the screen, the headset has trouble differentiating all the various sounds being thrown at them. Lastly, the leatherette ear cushioning is not exactly the most breathable thing in the world, so you will need to readjust them every so often to prevent ear discomfort, but other than these minor issues, all seems good. I had no issues like the XBOX one version reviews show, and I DID get a faulty one off the bat, but I think I will enjoy these ones for some time now.

    Best Overall quality Headset

For a while, I was using cheap headsets and the sound quality was OK to me but what bothered me the most was the microphone. If you so much as raise your voice a little, you screeched. This was annoying to my friends or even for re-watching recorded videos. I went on a hunt for a new headset. I wanted a wireless one. I wanted to be truly free of wires, even between my controller and my head. I tried the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 first. The mic quality was amazing but the first set I got would unpair after a day or two and it was annoying to having to pair it over and over again. I tried updating the firmware but it kept happening. I returned the headset and got Sony's Platinum wireless headphones. The headphones worked great, the sound quality is amazing but the microphone was an integrated one which meant it was nowhere near my face. This made me sound like I was talking through a tube. The volume control between the game and the voice chat was a toggle than would decrease one volume and increase the other. There was no way to adjust it to your liking. After less than a week I returned it and gave the Stealth 700 another shot. This time, I knew I got a good one because it wouldn't unpair itself after a week. Pros: - Excellent Microphone quality - Surround sound supported thanks to Optical cable - Bluetooth connectivity to Phone for calls and music - 2 volume dials for controlling Game sound and voice chat - Additional volume control for Bluetooth sound through the phone's volume slider. - Battery last ~10 hours before needing a charge, even with Bluetooth on - Can be used while charging - Has a headphone jack for using it wired - Can be used on PC and Nintendo Switch as well - Comfy to use with glasses on Cons: - Charging cable too short - Aux cable not included for wired use - Superhuman hearing option not that great of a feature - Headset has stuttering and chopping sound issues that need the receiver to be unplugged and plugged back in to fix - Buzzing sound when using it while charging - Range of headset is a bit short - Works with PC but sound cuts off way more often. It's not an issue with the Switch - Calls over Bluetooth will sometime break and make the person on the other end sound like a demon spawn - Quality could be better, the padding under the headband is peeling off from the adhesive and other friends have told me the same about theirs I've owned the headphones since March of 2018 and 2 days ago, my microphone broke off but not entirely because it was hanging by the wire. I could still pivot the mic up and down to mute/unmute but it was annoying. Luckily I bought a 2 year protection plan so all I did was bring it back to the store and either exchange it for the same model or get a credit to use on another headset. I went with a Stealth 700 again. Despite the cons, it is still the best wireless surround sound headphones with a good microphone quality that is available for the PS4. The Bluetooth is a nice bonus. Other surround sound headphones that also support PC often only fully work with PC. You only get Stereo sound on PS4. Also, if you plan on picking up the Stealth 600 over the 700 because you don't need the Bluetooth, please note that the volume control cannot be separated on the 600. The second dial on those headphones is strictly for controlling Microphone feedback.

Let me start off by saying that I own two other headsets the Astro A40TR for Xbox one and the Hyperx cloud core, plus a pair of V-Moda M100. So I'm no stranger to headphones and headsets. This also is not a bad review against Best Buy. These headsets are, by far, one of the worst headsets you can buy for $130. I'll start off with the connection itself; Turtle beach is NOT using bluetooth but instead opted to use 2.4GHz sounds good in principle right? Wrong! The connection on this thing is utter garbage it cuts out every five seconds for around one second, sometimes longer. Keep in mind I'm five feet away from the usb sound card. So this thing is useless right off the bat. So does it at least sound good? I mean for $130 it has to sound good! Nope there's no option to have flat equalization, a feature that my old Turtle Beach x12 has, so what you get is the same sound a boombox from the 80's has. Strong bass presence that makes the mids muddy. There is no way to adjust this even in Turtle Beach's hub on PC. Surround sound; This is the one thing Turtle Beach got right the virtualization does a pretty decent job of placing sounds around your' head. It's no Dolby Atmos but it's pretty dang good for the price. Last but not least is if you own the PS4 Slim you cannot control chat volume, I know this isn't Turtle Beach's fault but they need to put it on the box. Sure you can bypass this by plugging the optical cord into your' tv. Here's the problem though; No 1. the included optical cord is not long enough (about eight inches). No. 2 if you're like me you're using the optical port already.

Best Overall headset for a PS4

This is my second Turtle Beach Stealth 700. The first one I had was unpairing itself from the receiver every day so I returned it and bought a Platinum Headset from Sony. That was a mistake and I now am back to Turtle Beach with a second Stealth 700 and it is doing much better. I don't think there are that many wireless PS4 headset out there that will give you surround sound, a good quality mic and an easy way to adjust the volume between the game and voice chat. Setup is simple and there are instructions on how to properly connect the receiver and the optical cable in order to separate the game sound and voice chat. I mentioned above that I tried the PS4 Platinum headset and the volume control on that one was not great at all. It was a toggle that would increase the volume of one sound and decrease the other. You couldn't fine tune it and adjust it as accurately as you can when you have two separate volume knobs (not digital buttons) like you do on the Turtle beach. When you play games like Rainbow 6, being able to focus on the game sound only is a great feature. Battery life is great. I can go for about 10 hours before needing a charge, and that's with the Bluetooth on. Speaking of which, that is a nice plus. I can answer calls right on my headset and it will mute the mic for the others in the game. You can also play your music and videos through the headset. The volume for the phone is controlled on the phone itself, giving you the ability to control the volume of 3 source separately. The phone app is also good for changing the settings to the headset, like how loud the voice announcer guy is when he says "Headset On" and "Bluetooth On". I don't think the superhuman hearing is that useful. You sacrifice a lot in order to hear everything louder, which isn't a good thing in most games. The headset will also sometimes get really choppy. I've once had the sound cut out completely for a few seconds before working again. I don't know what causes it but it hasn't been happening enough for me to return it again. This is the best wireless headset you can get on PS4 with a good quality microphone, separated volume control and Bluetooth for connecting to your phone. I definitely recommend it over Sony's own headset.

The headset is good (kinda), but the Bluetooth is not. About the headset, I've only had this for about two days (11-24-18) and for some reason as of from when I got it till right now (11-26-18) this headset has a buzzing sound in the left ear. It is very annoying especially if you're playing a game and the in-game sounds are quiet. Don't know if it is a defect so I am returning it asap. And about the Bluetooth, it works GREAT with the App and listening to music is just as great too. But when talking on the phone with someone is another story. I was talking to a friend of mine on FaceTime Audio, where the audio quality is VERY clear when using the mic on the phone or the earbuds it came with. But when using this headset and the Bluetooth feature, it is trash. My friend was saying that each time I would talk, there would be a buzzing sound and would go away when i didn't talk. It also sounds like I'm talking into a soda can, I tested that out by using the Voice Recorder in the Phone itself. Overall, if you're getting this product and it has a buzzing sound, return it and get another one (or don't). And if you're getting this so you can talk on the phone while playing your video game, I wouldn't get it...

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gaming Headset for PS4 and PS4 Pro was the perfect addition to my holiday shopping list for my 16 year old son. He is a hardcore gamer, and shopping for him is always hard, but not this year. His old headset broke, and when I went looking for a new one, this was at the top of my list. For the price, you really can't beat the value this headset provides. The complete surround sound is incredibly. I tried it after he asked me too, and it really sounds like you are right there in the middle of the game. These are also great for those who wear glasses like me, as the have a special fit just for people who wear glasses. This made them super comfortable! If you are looking for a reasonably priced headset that gives you the same benefits and quality of some of the more expensive options, this is a great choice.

    Firmware Update 'Paywall'

The only way to update this headset's firmware is by connecting it to a device that has Windows 7 (or newer) or Mac OS 10.12 (or Newer). If you're somebody who only owns, say, mobile Android or iOS devices, not only are you left unable to update the headset's firmware, but the available and update-to-date mobile app (Turtle Beach Audio Hub) does not provide a mobile means for implementing the headset's current firmware update. The first-party Turtle Beach Audio Hub app can be downloaded to and launched on Android and iOS devices, but manipulation of any of its features is impossible when the app recognizes (via Bluetooth) that the headset's firmware is not up-to-date. Without the headset firmware update, this headset DOES still work with the PS4/PS4 Pro. However, I need to make it abundantly clear that the audio quality available without the firmware update installed is extremely poor. Before purchasing the Stealth 700, I had been a long-time user of Turtle Beach headsets. This was the first wireless Turtle Beach product I've purchased. After this product experience, I plan to return to exclusively using wired headsets/microphones and continue to supplement their audio rendering quality with first and third-party in-line amplification devices.

I didn't realize my PS4 games were broadcasting in surround sound until I started wearing this headset. I like to wind down after a long day playing a game of Call of Duty or Madden NFL on our family's PS4 after putting the kids to bed for the night.  The kids can hear me playing video games from their rooms and won't go to sleep unless I mute the sound or am wearing a headset.  This headset has really worked out great for me not only in being able to be stealthy about playing video games without waking my children up at night but by also providing a level of sound quality that is superior to what was otherwise being projected from the speakers on my television. We don't have a home theater set up with surround sound ourselves. So, I've really been enjoying being able to use my Turtle Beach headset to experience watching movies and playing video games in surround sound on my family's PS4 using the Stealth 700 wireless headset. From my experience both the noise cancellation and surround sound features have worked incredibly well and the battery life has been remarkable. I'd highly recommend this headset!

for starters, sound quality is good. i like the app for faster access to adjusting the sound. and that's about all that's good about these. build quality has gone down hill compared to older models. battery life is terrible. i've had to reconnect the headphones to the bluetooth dongle just about every other time i use them. they will connect to my phone but even when i turn them off to charge, some how, charging them turns them back on. so i have to go into my phones settings to disconnect them. and this happens when using the ps4. i would want to watch a movie and not use the headset and never fails, plug them in to charge, the ps4 will switch to headset. now i am comparing these to a set of stealth 400 that i've had for close to 5 yrs and only reason i'm still not using them is b/c i lost the dongle for them. i could play for 6-7 hrs for 3-4 days till they needed to be recharged. and they seemed to be built better. better plastics, better feel, better sound, better mic, etc.

This headset is garbage the bass is not good on them the surround sound does not sound good, and my friends cannot hear me on my mic half the time, and I have done the proper update and setup for them and they just are not good I am a TB fan I have had the px24 and then had the stealth 520 and both of them for me are better then these TB has fallen off and just aren't making good headsets anymore also these feel very cheap and there the main feat: the superhuman hearing is trash I am a competitive player on games like BF1, COD, and Destiny 2 and hearing footsteps for me you can hardly hear them the only plus is the Bluetooth app where you can control your headset, and also you can hear other sounds like direction of weapons firing and explosions but those are my only a few good things to say on this headset also one more thing is the loud crackle and poping you get that is loud and annoying. I will be returning these and be replacing them with Astro A40 for me wired are just better in general. (These are my experiences may be diff with other people) (These are used on ps4 pro)

Horrible mic monitoring - good sound

    Posted
    Rick

I was really excited about getting these headphones. Ive had turtle beach in the past and have liked them. The sound on these are very good and got really loud at least for me. The amount of bass was shocking to me but almost distracting. Drfinitely will get your heart rate up in an intense battle. The virtual surround sound was OK. It did a pretty good job. But here is why I'm returning the headset. The mic monitoring level on these are a JOKE!! I have the slider all the way up and unless I turn the game volume way down I can't hear myself talk and end up yelling. I have been using the turtle beach 60p and the mic monitoring on those are perfect! Really once you're in a game and in a battle with gunfire going off bombs going off you simply can't hear yourself talking as if there was zero mic monitoring happening. I hope this is something they will fix in the future but I'm not going to wait. The headphones have become useless to me with out the mic monitoring feature working properly.

I have used a few Turtle Beach headsets over the years but this one failed. It started to overheat when charging then it went completely dead. Others have said they had the same problem. However, Turtle Beach did offer a replacement but I had already returned the item. I ended up getting the Sony Platinum which turned out to be an overall better product. I am not knocking the Turtle Beach but I think there is a slight quality control issue or a batch of bad batteries are in the mix for the 700. The sound quality was good and I really like the flip up mic to mute feature. The controls are not that intuitive but you can get use to them. I do find they are comfortable but the I will give the Sony Platinum a plus up in that department. The Turtle Beach looks good but all the plastic makes them feel fragile even though I have never had one break from handling. Try it and I will say that Turtle Beach will stand behind their product.

I have had Turtle Beach off and on over the years, and with a protection plan to guard against the plastic build, I found them to be good choices. With this in mind, I bought the Stealth 700 set. The feature set on this model is robust, with everything that I wanted. I should disclose that in my research, I had heard of random disconnects being an issue with this set. Sure enough, it happened to me as well. In addition I was getting loud popping noises out of the ear cups. All this on the first (and only) day of use. I returned them the next morning. I have spent the last few days on the hunt for a functioning headset, and my search continued after this. If they had worked correctly, I would have kept them but that was not the case.

Honest review of this product is that even though it boasts all the things is says. It only worked half the time. I got it out of the box and had to do a firm ware update and then the app I downloaded only worked some of the time. The connectivity issue is still an issue. Blue tooth to a phone seems to lack auto connection and worked half the time. I only got super human hearing to work once and then it never worked again. And the app mic check never worked at all. ANC works but barely. The actual audio from the PS4 seemed quiet and not loud enough. The blue tooth when it worked seemed to be a lot louder than when playing games for some reason. I was hoping it was the other way around but no, I had to play games with it turned up to max to hear anything and also with blue tooth music only I had to turn it all the way down because it was too loud. Dunno what happened here but all the other reviews aren’t as accurate so you get what you pay for here.

I bought these headphones primarily to use with the nintendo switch to play fortnite. I also use them for computer games. Good: Overall i am happy with them. I love how they can connect to my switch and allow me hear and speak using mic while also talking on my smartphone through the headset. No issues with using them for computer games. Bad: When using with my Nintendo Switch the mic glitches and my friends say that my voice sounds robotic. This may or may not be an issue with the headphones and/or the Switch. However the headphones and mic work perfectly with the Switch when i connect them to the switch with 3.5mm 4-conductor extension cable. Overall i am happy but disappointed with the wireless mic quality when using with the Switch. The build quality is ok but i can see them brake pretty easily since they are made out of plastic.

The sound is really good. For me, superhuman is not that useful, you can almost hear everything but the sound is annoying. I play Rainbow six siege where sound is very important but I barely/never used the superhuman because you will be hearing unnecessary noise that will distract you. Battery life is too short, sometimes doesnt last more than 4 hours. Almost every 3 weeks, I put the headset on charge and LED is red, but then in the next day the headset didnt charge at all. and of course you need to pair it again. I had a turtle beach PX4 before and it was very good and never had an issue. I replaced it with the Stealth 700 (because it is 100%) wireless but I am very disappointed. I got 5 months ago and now i am having an issue where the headset is not turning on and not charging, and waiting on turtle beach to respond to my issue, which means no headset for at least a week :/

So the sound is amazing, the bass is a perfect punch and not too overbearing from the sound. My only gripe with it is the battery life is not that long, maybe four to six hours? Also the adapter with the optical cable connection can be a bit cumbersome depending on how you set up your PlayStation. kind of hard to explain but the wire seems to get in the way. It works without the optical cable in a stereo sound. The other annoying thing is the voice that talks to you when you turn it on turn it off or if the battery is low. I have an older pair of PX4 turtle Beach headphones that sound amazing as well but for an older model I would say they hold up fairly equal to this one. The Lows on this one are much more "Bassy" which sounds great.

The headphones sound great with lots of bass, mids are decent and the 7.1 surround does a very good job in identifying where enemies are in games like Call of Duty. The negatives: These headphones definitely don't get 10-12 hours out of one battery charge. I would say more like 5-6 hours. You are able to plug them in and still use them as if they were fully charged, so no issue there. Secondly, the "Super Human Hearing" feature is total crapola. It sounds as if you are in a tin can with no bass and terrible sound quality, so forget about that aspect of these. However, as I said, you don't really need the Super Human Hearing gimmick because they sound great without it. Make sure you download the Turtle Beach Audio Hub app on your phone and PC because it makes it easy to make changes on the fly. I definitely recommend these at the price of $119 which I paid for them!

When I set up the headset for my Playstation 4 I was disappointed that the PS4 ITSELF (ie not a problem with the headset) does not accept the bluetooth availability in this headset and requires the USB interface. So, getting past this...when the headset took over from my home theater system, I thought at first that it wasn't working. But in reality it sounded SO GOOD that I thought it hadn't taken over yet and that I was still listening to my Yamaha/Polk Audio home theater. I had to take the headset off to confirm that it was actually the headset and not my stereo I was hearing. It was that good and that seamless. The noise-cancelling feature is SO GOOD I can't hear my mom nagging me. I can't even hear the phone ring. This headset is by far the single best headphone speaker set I've ever had.

This headset is super comfortable on my ears. I have used other headsets and did not like how they sat on my head and really disliked how many hurt my ears from shoddy material. The material around the headphones is squishy and very comfy !!! The mouth piece/ microphone is not to bulky and is not right in your face , it’s alao not made of flimsy bendable wire, this is a fold down hard piece of plastic that feels durable. The buttons for power and Bluetooth syncing are right on the headset in a convenient place that’s easy to reach and use, as well as the mic volume control and the headset volume control which are right on the back of the left ear piece. I would definitely say you get what you pay for in the quality of the headset Versus the cheaper headsets on the market. 5 Stars all the way for the Turtle Beach. Stealth !!!!!
