You are correct however every detector is useless for laser. The only effective countermeasure for laser is the ALP Laser jammer. Depending on your location laser maybe used more or less. Concluding a radar detector is only going to let you know your getting shot with laser and at that point it's too late. You have to get a laser jammer and ALP is the best.. check out Vortex radar on YouTube for great reviews.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can detect laser - but just like every other radar/laser detector, it can only detect laser when the laser is already pointed to you. In this way, all radar detectors on the market today that detect laser are more of a "ticket notification system" that you have just been dinged by the authorities and be prepared to get pulled over if you are excessively speeding. Law Enforcement typically use laser on Highways/Freeways and/or SpeedTraps - otherwise Ka seems to be the prominent method in most states since it's easy for the officer to use, doesn't require as much of a stead hand and/or getting out of their car to tag drivers. If you want to avoid laser detection / avoid tickets, you'll need to look into laser jamming systems which are typically starting at over $500 USD and require installation of small components on the front (and back) areas of the car near where the officer will hit you with a laser. P.S. Also install WAZE driving maps app, it has crowd sourced notifications for police on major roads to help you be aware of where the police are at.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's not useless, it will alert, but if the officer is not shooting every car that goes by and picks you out because you are obviously speeding, it will tell you that you just got a ticket.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's a RADAR detector, used to detect RADAR signals. Nothing can stop the effectiveness of a laser. However, there are laser shifters available. Do some research. As for who is using Radar and Laser, do some research on your town on google. I'm sure you can find some answers. As I have. A great source of information is vortexradar.com
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It all depends on when the LEO turns on the laser. I've always received ample warning.
