My understanding of tilt switch is for only one reason, to keep someone from being hurt if the engine is started by a remote. The vehicle could be out of sight when the remote is used. You can run the engine with the hood up, just can't use remote to start.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is a Tilt Switch, which senses a significant change in the angle of whatever it is attached to, such as a car hood or trunk lid. Typically, backup cameras are attached to the Backup Lights from inside the trunk, to activate the camera. Because the car doesn't "tilt" when backing up, this switch would serve no purpose.
