Something positive & unexpected was I can now lock/unlock my vehicle with remote which I couldn't before. Vehicle didn't come with remote originally. Only draw back for me I can't use alarm if I leave motor & air running for my pet. Have to manually lock. Most people probably don't have that issue.

A:AnswerThe alarm will give either a voice warning (which is an optional add on) or the built in siren "chirp" as a warning at the first sign of anyone trying to tamper with it, this happens immediately upon any of the sensors detecting a problem. If the tampering continues in a predetermined amount of time (which you can set) the alarm will then go off fully, this avoids false alarms from things like vibration from a large vehicle going by or someone parking next to your car in a parking lot or from something as small as a cat hopping on your car. You can work with your installer to set the sensitivity of the system to make it more or less likely to go off which is important to avoid false alarms going off and disturbing people around your vehicle unnecessarily which also makes an actual alarm more likely to scare off any thief and get the attention of someone nearby in case of an actual security breech. You can also add additional sensor options such as those designed for soft tops like on Jeeps or convertible top cars which can detect any motion even someone reaching in to your car through an already open window (called a radar sensor) or level sensors which detect even the most gentle tow truck, electrical signal detectors which will set the alarm off if anyone opens a door connected to your interior lights or does anything to activate any electrical devices connected to the car, there are also battery backup sirens which go off even if someone disconnects your battery, shock sensors which can detect even slight impacts, glass breakage sensors that listen for higher pitch sounds made by glass being broken or cut, and either pin switches (buttons that pop up if a door, trunk, hood or tailgate are opened) or magnet switches that detect the same thing. Also, there is the addition of a cell phone app which will allow you to not only arm and disarm the system but also will allow you to monitor the status of it while you are away. There is also the option of remote starting your car to let it warm up in cold weather or cool down in hot weather while still keeping the car locked and the system armed until you are ready to disarm it with your remote or app. I hope this helps... good luck!
