“Does anyone know how to connect this soundbar to a TCL Roku TV (or any smart TV) so that I can use the TV's remote to adjust the soundbar volume? Must I have an EXTERNAL Roku connected to the HDMI-in and the TV connected to the HDMI-out?”

• VIZIO sound bars are designed to work with all TV makes and models, you just need a compatible audio connection! The sound bar also has a Learn feature that can be used to receive IR commands from your TV remote for volume adjustments and mute.

• Just one out to the sound bar should work, if you have an hdmi that says ARC, or eARC use that, (audio return channel with hdmi)

• I figured it out. Just connect the HDMI-out on the soundbar to the TV HDMI-eARC. Nothing needs to be connected to the soundbar HDMI-in.
