• Yes, I bought this phone for the home I share with my mother. We haven't bothered to connect a cell phone to the unit, and it works perfectly.

• Maj - Yes, you can still use the VTech IS8151-4 without using the Connect to Cell feature as long as the telephone base is connected to an AC power and a telephone jack/modem to get a dial tone. Thank you! - VTech Support
