I have the phone plugged into the auxiliary port on my fax but when someone faxes me something, the answering machine answers will not let the fax come through is there a way to shut down the answering machine null

I think you can press the answer off button on the front of the charging port. My answering machine was on and now is off and this is the only thing I changed.

John - The VTech DS6771-3 is not capable of detecting if a call coming in is a fax or a voice call. You must set your fax machine to answer on fax calls only and its number of rings must be set lower than the answering machine. You can contact the fax manufacturer to get assistance in setting the fax machine to fax calls only. Thank you, -VTech Support
