Is this an active pen? And will it be compatible with the HP spectre x360 15? null

It would work w/ the 2017 Spectre x360 15 that uses N-Trig (remember to hold the two buttons down to switch from Wacom to N-trig). It won't work w/ previous year models.

It doesn't work with my 2016 HP Spectre x360 15.6” 4K. 

Bluetooth paring works, and clicking button launches the corresponding application. 

Unfortunately, I cannot write anything on screen. Switching protocol by holding both side buttons doesn’t help either.

No, this not an active stylus but it is compatible with HP.

It is not compatible with the HP 360. It is only usable on the iPad. The specter 360 uses a different engine. You need the hp pen but the drawing results are not comparable to the iPad or the Microsoft surface
