You can transfer optimized games from internal memory to a WD-Black C50 storage card install in the expansion slot. You can also play the game while the C50 storage card is installed. However, due to their speed limitations, you cannot play optimized games from an external hard drive.

Please try again later.basically. think of an external drive as a storage locker. when u want things u go get them ad bring them home. this adds space to ur home. u can store games, save data etc on it. and play games in it without having to download them to ur Core Storage like u have to do with external drive
