It will work with Windows 7 (although I highly recommend upgrading to at least Windows 8.1 since the security updates for Windows 7 are discontinued). The question is, does your computer have a drive bay or spot in the case for mounting hard drives that is 3.5" wide inside the space where the drive goes? If it is only 2.5" wide, this drive will not work. Also, this drive is SATA, so you need to have SATA controllers on your computer's motherboard in order to use it. SATA controllers look like the picture with red plugs below. The color of them and their location on the board will vary depending on the maker of the board. The important thing is the shape of the 'plugs' in the controller. If you see something like what's in the picture of the black and white plugs below, then you need a hard drive with IDE connectors. Again, the color will vary, but the shape will be the same as what is shown.
