• yes ..but WD makes a drive specific for video applications. This drive would work but the life of the drive will be diminished over time.

• DVR's typically use a special partition scheme and possibly a special format. If you know how to reformat and/or re-partition and if the DVR takes a desktop hard drive (3.5") instead of a laptop hard drive (2.5") then it will work.

• Possibly, but WD also has a line for "surveillance cameras", which is a closer application matchup.

• Yes you can, in fact i use it on one DVR, the only think you need to check is your dvr maximum capacity of hard drives....
