Check to see if your bios can recognize this larger drive. My security computer can only recognize two terabytes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a 3.5" hard drive, which is a size that is not compatible with laptops. You will need a 2.5" hard drive to fit a laptop, as well as an open space for it.

We recommend that you contact Host Device Support for drive compatibility information. However, the WD Blue 3.5-inch hard drive is designed for internal use. Please see the link to learn more about the drive - https://support-en.wd.com/app/products/product-detail/p/281 - Need help? Please see our "Contact Us" page for information.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If I remember correctly, the Inspiron is a notebook and this will not fit. I don't think it even has an interior cut out to fit a platter HDD, only a PCIe NVME drive. You could, however, use this as a portable HDD into your USB port with the right enclosure. But for the $$ I'd suggest a ready made portable drive or upgrading your internal NVME drive.
