A:Answer I'm answering my own question, after Western Digital said not to use an adapter... But, I already got it to work by downloading the Apricorn software for cloning hard drives. This software was able to see the SSD through the USB adapter, cloned my disk drive succesfully. I then replaced the old HDD with the SSD and my laptop is working better than ever.
