• Yes, but you must use a file format compatible with both operating systems. I believe by default the drive was formatted with NTFS which is not compatible with OS X. I recommend using exFat.

• The short answer is no - not without spending hours upon hours and still being unsuccessful. There is supposedly a WD MyPassport external HD that is specifically preformatted for Mac that you can just plug and use
