Honestly if you are "sharing" an internet connection, your saving money. If you are asking such questions, hire someone to set it up for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as you directly connect your WD Device with ethernet cord, you can use it. You can even allocate so much storage space for other people in your family (while locking them out of your documents, pics, etc. It really only affects anything if you don't have enough ethernet ports in your router and would have to unplug something. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can. I have 4 separate users connected to mine and it operates perfectly. Each user can have separate pw's and therefore be completely secure. It connects via an Ethernet cable so it doesn't affect the wireless UL/DL Speeds. I've been very happy with my unit.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This doesn't have anything to do with your router unless you specifically set I up that way.Just plug it in to a USB port on your desktop computer or laptop. Directions on backing up come with the device. Or you can just drag and drop whatever files you want to save. It is really simple to use!
