Dear CuriousGuy; Okay, the WDBCTL0080-HWT is 8 TB Drive. This My Cloud is a private, personal storage unit that plugs into your home network. It automatically backs up and centralizes all your content in one safe place that only you control. And because it’s online, you, friends and family can quickly access and share whatever you want, with any device, anywhere you have an Internet connection. The other WD model doesn't have that big of a size and is not cloud-storage based unit that connects to other machines. Hope that helps.
