Yes, it will work with a mac. All external drives work with a mac. Don't let anyone tell you different. The only thing you have to do is format it to Mac's standard. You will see drives advertised as "works with mac" or "for mac". You can ignore all of that. Any hard drive will work with a mac. Computers talk in 1's and 0's. Nothing complex about it.
