• I am using it with desktop HP Envy with Windows 10; Not sure about your data transfer.question. I have not tried transfer as yet. It has the capacity to set off partitions, for whatever use you wish.

• I can't promise it but i literally use this as an external hdd for my xbox one and it works perfectly to save my game save data and game downloads. Lol . I'm pretty sure it'll work with the pc.
