You can drag and drop the files to the drive or, to create a complete backup, use the Windows File History utility or the WD utilities on the drive itself to complete a backup.

Please try again later.Hook it up via your USB port, allow it to install the software, it will ask you what folder, files, etc. you want to backup and when you want to back it up. It is very easy and you can make it automatic. It also allows a Backup Now option so you can backup everything as soon as you choose the items you desire.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The drive has a basic backup program from WD. It's in a folder in the drive that you need to double click to install. After installation run the program and follow the backup wizard.
