• Based on my recent experience, although a Windows 10 compatibility test may tell you that the portable hard drive is compatible, it may not be unless the portable hard drive is specifically rated on the purchase box to be compatible with Windows 10. When I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 my portable hard drive quit doing the automatic backups. After multiple attempts by technical support to correct the problem I finally had to uninstall the portable hard drive and install a new one specifically rated as compatible with Windows 10 software. The new hard drive works perfectly as it should.
