I chose this hard drive because the Best Buy description said there was a built in encryption program. I didn't see anything on the packaging about encryption. I want to know this before I begin the install. Is there encryption software in the HD? null

Nope. It's just a blank drive. I don't know of any encryption software for this model. It's a good model, however.

Not to my knowledge

I am not sure there is encryption on these drives...if it states then it should be encrypted

whatever i bought was non-encrypted

so you should ensure before putting into the Laptop or any place- in today's world security is the key

Or please ensure to test in one of their laptops i would recommend- to be fair, total objective, honest, ethical and upfront
