• Yes you can. The XBox will ask you if you want to reformat the drive, select yes and the XBox will do the rest. FYI, if you have any files, photos, music, etc on the drive, they will all be erased during the format process by the XBox.

• yes you can, but xbox will ask you to reformat the external, but you dont have to I was still able to view the files on there and watch it through my xbox.
