There's really only one difference between the two, which is how the drive is formatted coming out of the box. The one that works with both comes formatted in exFat, which works for both OS's. The one that is "for Mac" comes formatted in Mac OSX Journaled, which PC's can't read. That said, when I was looking, it was the cheaper option, so I got it, and then just had my computer reformat the drive to exFat. It's worked perfectly with both my Mac and PC since then.
