“I am about to run an Apple Time machine backup on my iMac (1 tb) with Mojave upgrading to Monterey. Is this a suitable device for doing that, or is there another device I should choose? I do not use this device for gaming or music files. Thanks!”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.That should work. The drive is supported from MacOS 10.13 high Sierra or above. Mojave is 10.14 so should be supported. Monterey is definitively working with time machine. I use that drive with Monterey for time machine and storing other large documents.
