I honestly have not used this in a car. I bought it along with an AC adapter to use while at home to help my cell signal in part of my house. The directions for set up DO say to place the antenna away from any other antennas so it may interfere depending on where you mount the exterior antenna. Sorry I couldn't answer exactly what you had asked.
