Does this work to turn on/off smart bulbs? Trying to find a way for my young children & elderly grandparents to control smart light bulbs without having to know how to use an app or separate device? null

These often replace the smart bulbs, so it may or may not work for you, all it will do is turn on or off the smart bulb. While off, the smart bulb control won’t probably work. If your smart bulb is like A Philips hue, they sell wireless/ no battery required switches that control smart bulbs directly

it works as a regular switch with an app. And i have it set up with Google home so the kids just tell her to turn the lights on/ off works great

This product i functions just like a regular standard switch I recommend a professional installer to install the switch and have Geek Squad set everything up with your total tech protection if that’s available 
So the truth somebody will have to download the app on their tablet or cell phone to actually get everything set up through Wemo and i If the house that you’re putting it in has an Alexa. For an example After you have labeled it in the app called living room light 
You are able to turn it on and off with that phone wherever you’re at and all you have to do is say Alexa turn on or turn off Living Room light and she will do it. 
I highly recommend this product I have several switches in my home I’m able to turn things on and off worldwide wherever I’m at or sitting in my house on the app or saying it out loud. 
This is the same for all smart switches.,
Also if you get multiple switches throughout the house you can ask Alexa to turn on or to turn off all home if you set it up this way and all the lights will turn on and all the lights will turn off on one command.,
