Product Width , according to the spec sheet, is 48.8 inches. Unless the stand legs extend past the product itself, which is not the case, there is no way the distance between the stand legs is 53.5 inches. This appears to be a typo. Westinghouse lost a sale because they could not give me an actual dimension.

Recently I purchased a Samsung 50" and NEEDED the leg/support question BECAUSE I don't have a lot of large horizontal surfaces. As to the other question - I bought my Samsung 50" for a few reasons ....1) My Westinghouse died after 12 years........ & 2) that the leg spec's were vital to where I could have the GEEK SQUAD install it. 3) If I wasn't handicapped .... Well, let's just say that dexterity in me is LONG GONE
