Determine the venting system. Mine vented to the outside but I change it to recirculating mode. Once you made up your mind, you need to evaluate the layout phase of the installation. Is the mounting plate the same? If so there is no problem. If it's not remove the old mounting plate. Make note of lag screw is in a stud (studs are located 16 inches on center) or where a screw hanger is located mark them. Hold and tape the template against the wall Level) as instructed fine the holes from the outside and pierce the template and mark the location of what type of fastener to use. You then evaluate where to use fasteners for the mounting per template. Now secure the mounting plate ensuring that it is level and Wa La you are ready to drill top holes thru cabinets; just use the template.
