If you placed something heavy on the opened door or leaned on it you may have bent the hinges. Sorry there is no easy fix, its one of the reasons I replaced my old one with this one. I bent the hinges pulling it out from under the counter when it developed a leak. If you didn't bend the hinges then I would suspect a problem with the latch.
