“I have a 2012 Whirlpool dishwasher Model WDF 730 PAYM. The soap dispenser never self cleans when it cycles and the residue turns hard. This is affecting the "flipper" that opens the lid. I've changed type of soaps, but no success. Your thoughts?”

• Lulu1943, have you tried cleaning your dishwasher with affresh dishwasher cleaner? This will help break down the mineral and soap residue buildup that will accumulate in your dishwasher.
