Yes, the top left shelf is adjustable. it kind of "slides" into itself to create a smaller shelf if it is necessary. I must say, that I have had this refrigerator a couple of weeks, and I really like it. I replaced a Samsung very similar model with this Whirpool one, and it is so much better. The Samsung was a pain in the buns for close to 2 years...the ice maker was, to be exact. Thank goodness I got the Geek Squad protection....it saved me TONS of headaches!!
 I didn't know what to expect from a Whirpool, but I am quite impressed thus far.
Feel free to submit any other questions you may have....but, avoid the Samsung refrigerator like the plague.

The top left shelf is split so one piece can slide back to make it a half shelf, making room for taller items in front

The shelves are all adjustable. There is a shelf that allows shifting the front under the back half so larger items can be stored in front of the shelf.
