A:AnswerI purchased this refrigerator in April 2019. After a few month the lights stopped working. Unplugging the unit, then plugging it back in resolves but the lights eventually will go back out after time. Its very disappointing that this is a know issue since January 2018. https://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/attachments/technical-service-pointer-w11218221-pdf.40836/
A:AnswerNo. Has plenty of room for a family of 4. At least for us. My wife likes the refrigerator so that means I love it. I suggest you look at one up close and evaluate.
A:AnswerNo you can not get half gallon containers of ice cream in it. I have to use the bottom drawer to hold my ice cream.
Don't know if the top one could be removed or not, but I like the 2 drawers over the bottom big drawer as I can arrange my freezer items a lot better where I can see everything a glance.
A:AnswerWe installed this refrigerator in a space that was made for a counter-depth refrigerator. The depth of this model is about 4 inches deeper than the counter-depth refrigerator that we replaced. The new refrigerator fits fine in the space and the doors allow for a full opening without restriction. However, if one of the sides is flush with a wall that extends beyond the door opening, the access to the interior will be restricted and would limit the "full view" and full access when both french doors are opened.
A:AnswerNo this does not use the LG Linear. This is not an LG product and is actually better. The linear compressors dont last and you will loose food and money if you buy anything with the LG linear. Their claim to fame
Is how quiet they are but when your food spoils and they won’t cover the repair over $1000 after only owing it one year you will want to choke someone. It happened to us 2 times
In less than 30 months of owning a linear compressor $5000 LG fridge and never again The Whirlpool or Maytag brands are the best.
A:AnswerYes, the top left shelf is adjustable. it kind of "slides" into itself to create a smaller shelf if it is necessary. I must say, that I have had this refrigerator a couple of weeks, and I really like it. I replaced a Samsung very similar model with this Whirpool one, and it is so much better. The Samsung was a pain in the buns for close to 2 years...the ice maker was, to be exact. Thank goodness I got the Geek Squad protection....it saved me TONS of headaches!!
I didn't know what to expect from a Whirpool, but I am quite impressed thus far.
Feel free to submit any other questions you may have....but, avoid the Samsung refrigerator like the plague.
A:AnswerNot an issue at all. Only thing is the ice machine it is little bit loud. But overall amazing fridge 10 of 10. Get this you will not be disappointed.
A:AnswerHello. The ice maker in the freezer myth is only if it’s not prroperly sealed within the French door freezer.
We had a brand new LG $5000 refrigerator that had both an ice maker in the French doors and one in the freezer and neither had issues. That being said the refrigerator didn’t last but 1 year before it needed a brand new compresor which was over $1000 Lg covered it. Then the next year it happened again. They would not cover it anymore.
Our new Whirlpool which is made by Maytag is the best fridge we could have asked for.
It’s going strong and no issues in the freezer or refrigerator. Even with French door ice maker. ( it’s sealed and doesn’t leak etc. ) it’s better quality than the LG and if you at ello long for a French door with high quality freezer this one is the one.
A:AnswerHi Moonlight, we would recommend using the EveryDrop® Whirlpool Brand Water Filter, as it was designed for this specific Whirlpool - 26.2 Cu. Ft. 4-Door French Door Refrigerator. As for cleaning, we would recommend affresh® Stainless Steel cleaner as well as following the Use and Care Instructions on caring for your Refrigerator. Thank you for your question!
A:Answer33 …. the temps are auto set per type of foods you are wanting to store and not changeable. There are four settings and while the drawer does not tell you the temp setting for each. I read (I believe in the manual) that the coolest was for meats - 33% and the warmest was for drinks - can't remember what it was. I have it set on drinks to save energy right now. I can't find my manual but Whirlpool should be able to answer your question.
A:AnswerNon, it is not scratch resistant.... I have heard that as well. We ordered one anyways because we needed the black sides on the frig. We have had it a week and it not only survived the installation without a scratch, but also a week in our home. I know that is not long, but I figure if the finish gets too bad, I will paint the doors with chalkboard or other black paint and it will look good again. The sides are durable and not the black film stainless steel. The regular stainless has grey sides with no option for black. Our other appliances are black and one side of our frig is open to a passage way with the other side partially showing.
Additionally, you will want to consider that when cleaning it you will not be able to use a regular cleaner, but a soft rag and gentle dish/soapy water.
A:AnswerYes and it is quite easy. First you open the large insulating door, then you press up on a little lever in the lower right corner of the ice bucket and lift up. Putting it back is just as easy. When you first get the frig, you should discard the first three "dumps" of ice so you will get practice with this right away. (you will also want to dump the first three gallons of water before the frig starts making ice..... the new water tube needs to be thoroughly flushed.
