Tape lid shut. Lay washer down on it's front side, with a blanket under it. Look underneath. When my Cabrio wouldn't spin or drain, I did this and discovered that the belt had come off the pulley. Easy fix, but took a little effort to fit on. Turning large pulley while doing this helped.
