A:AnswerNo, the monthly service is for features such as motion detection to be recorded 24/7 but if you want just live feed and a few recorded motion detections 5 minutes from each other then no service is required.
A:AnswerHello! The Wyze Cam v3 can be used without a Cam Plus subscription. Without the service, all Wyze cameras will capture one 12-second alert video every five minutes when motion or sound is detected. Using a microSD card with the ‘record on event’ or 'continuous recording' feature turned on will allow the camera to record the rest of the footage that the cloud video does not capture. You may check this link as well (https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029811772-Events). On the other hand, Cam Plus is an add-on service and upgrades the free 12-second motion recording already included with Wyze Cam. This upgrade will record motion and store the events to the cloud for as long as motion is detected and adds Person Detection. That means no 12-second limit and no cooldown period. The recordings are stored in the cloud for 14 days. If you have further questions, you may reach out to our Wizards team (https://wyzelabs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us) so we can further assist you. A:AnswerHi there! Our products will require a 2.4GHz WiFi network signal in order to setup and communicate with the Wyze app. The cameras are primarily meant to work with an internet connection. The connection is what allows you to stream, get notifications and change settings via the Wyze App.Also, the cameras can be place anywhere as long as the internet signal from your router to your camera is strong.
