Open-box products have been returned by customers for a variety of reasons. Each open-box product was tested or inspected to verify proper working order and physical appearance, and assigned a condition — Excellent-Certified, Excellent, Satisfactory or Fair. I have purchased more than one open-box item from Best Buy over the years, and received both items that did not work at all, AND items that were below the quality I expected based on the open-box description. This is just my experience, hope it helps! Brian
