Sorry to be so long answering this. Just returned from across the country. Listening to internet radio as I write this. Input selection on MusicCast app includes an airplay option. The remote has buttons for usb opt aux Bluetooth and net. Looks like you need to get to net before getting to airplay. I’m not tech support but do have 45 yrs experience as engineer programmer and musician. I wouldn’t try to use it without MusicCast. This product contains a great DAC. Sounds very good! Best of luck
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No ... Why would you not want to use the App ?! You can’t really do anything with the Yamaha MusicCast wsc50 without app except use as preamp & hook up a CD player .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, it only functions through the MusicCast App. That's the hub, which isn't a bad thing. I finally returned it because Spotify and Yamaha refuse to play nice. It will not let spotify play through the network, only bluetooth. Stupid. I don't have time for something I have to troubleshoot every time I use it. That's why I stopped using Microsoft, too....
