Was trying to accomplish wireless whole home audio with powered bookshelf speakers and this worked marvelously. This allows me to use my Yamaha AVR as the master and link the same audio without delay via MusicCast. I can also use it to have music in just one room via Bluetooth, AirPlay, or network drive. I can also hardwire a source into it if I need it. As always with Yamaha this pre-amp has excellent sound reproduction.

This unit brought a integrated amp back to live with modern features and great sound like Yamaha always do. I'm able now to run Spotify, Tidal, Pandora etc. on an old Yamaha amp, the integrated DAC sound great! Wont regret if you are an audiophile!!!

Wanted to connect four Yamaha wireless speakers for background music in the house. This unit was suggested by home consultant. Geek Squad installed and we were both impressed by performance.

I'm using this WXC-50 to connect an older powerful Yamaha audio/AV system with a new Aventage Musiccast sound system for music throughout the house. Another plus is that if you're using a Logitech Harmony Elite universal remote, the Elite will find the connected WXC-50 and allow you to control it remotely via wifi. I'd give it a 5 star review if it were a tad cheaper.

Got the WXC-50 from Best Buy, and since I only get 15 days to return it, as per the limited return policy of Best Buy, I am forced to rate this quickly, as I package it up to take it back! My issues are common enough in online reviews. Best Buy's reviews of this product are misleading: in the real world, people seem to be about 50-50 in their thoughts on this device. My common problem: I was able to connect to my wifi, thus creating a MusicCast network, which my phone's spotify app, thru the MusicCast App, used to play a nice sounding stream. With the apps off, the device continued to play, so it's not based on you continuing to use the resources of your phone, and the DAC sounds very, very good! Then I tested the Bluetooth feature: spotify streaming from my phone sounded poorer than it did through the WXC-50, which confirmed that A) the yamaha is a superior sounding means of streaming to your system; and B) the bluetooth works differently than the wifi connection. When I tried to get back to the MusicCast network in my home, the Yamaha refused to do it. Nope. It wouldn't allow the Spotify to play through the wifi connection anymore. I reloaded the app; I rebooted my phone; I unplugged the WXC-50. All to no avail. As I sat there with my phone streaming spotify, but the yamaha just blinking at me stupidly, I decided to just return it. How awesome it may be is irrelevant; the Yamaha system fails because of it's lack of user friendliness. Online searches will reveal others with this very issue. For years now. And yamaha blithely advertises Spotify compatibility on the box itself. On the forums, people are told by yamaha that spotify is the culprit; others are told that yamaha is the bad actor; some suggest the iphone as a weak link. The bottom line is, this device does not work well with Spotify, and not just for me, so don't just take my review with a grain of salt. I advise you to research beyond Best Buys misleading selection of product reviews, and learn that even after several years, in addition to having outdated streaming speed capabilities, the yamaha WXC-50 has serious connectivity issues. I say, if you own an iphone and use Spotify, at least, to avoid this product. I wasted too much time trying to make it work. This isn't my fault, customer support, so please don't patronize me.
