No update, currently the HDMI 2.1 issue has NOT been resolved and the way things are looking... it may never be fixed properly. It's been over a year and the hdmi 2.1 issues haven't been fixed, so not a good sign there and Yamaha is dead silent on the issue. Their current "fix" if you even want to call it that is to plug the console directly into a 4K/120hz display and use eARC to send audio back to receiver. For me this defeats the purpose of even spending the money on or buying a HDMI 2.1 receiver however. So it's not a fix. It's a work around that isn't acceptable imo when a company is selling and advertising their product as HDMI 2.1. I'm still holding out for a proper solution before i even consider buying any HDMI 2.1 receiver at this point... looks like 2021 models are using the same chip as well. Which means if no software fix is discovered.... we won't have a proper HDMI 2.1 receiver until 2022 at the earliest.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have a sound United product (Denon, marantz, etc), a fix in the form of an adapter has been developed. This seems to have been the best option since the receivers are already out. http://www.denon.com/hdmiadapter
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sound United admitted that it is a hardware issue and their solution is a separate box that will serve as a go-between the XBox Series X and the receiver. Must be too late in the product cycle to fix. Anyone who previously purchased either Denon or Marantz will be given these for free, sometime at the end of May. Radio silence from Yamaha.
